About me con’t…
Type of therapy I offer: In person individual therapy for ages 17+ and couples therapy for ages 21+. I do not at this time offer family therapy. I do not offer tele-therapy at this time.
Skills and modalities I use: Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, CBT and DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamics and Jungian psychology, Gestalt therapy, and Feminist therapy. I also integrate expressive therapies such as movement, music, art and writing where desired.
I am a passionate advocate for building healthy, resilient communities by supporting individuals through life's diverse stages, from adolescence to elderhood, and through moments of grief, trauma, and transformation. As a trained birth and death doula, I offer specialized support for grief, obstetric trauma and end-of-life care. I provide specialized support for the postpartum period, including postpartum depression and mood disorders as well as the long term challenges of parenting, especially single parenthood. I specialize in trauma-informed care for individuals navigating intergenerational wounds, attachment trauma, and the complexities of identity and relationships. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself and long-time sexuality educator, I love to work with people of all ages to navigate and celebrate all identities. Additional experience and passions include adoption and foster care, working with people living with HIV or other chronic illnesses, working with people who use drugs, and supporting survivors of sexual violence.
In our work together, I support clients in reconnecting with their embodied wisdom, reclaiming their pleasure, and moving toward ease and liberation. I strive to create a space where you can explore and heal without judgment, in alignment with your deepest values and desires.
With a background in sexuality education, social work, and trauma healing, my practice is rooted in community care. I approach every client with humility, openness, and a dedication to creating more just, inclusive, and liberatory spaces for healing. I am always open to learning with and from you on this journey as we confront some of life’s biggest (and smallest) challenges and questions.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that liberation is possible when we unlearn harmful systems and narratives that no longer serve us, confront the legacies of colonialism, and honor personal autonomy. I integrate anti-colonial, intersectional, and anti-oppressive frameworks into my practice, acknowledging the ways that systemic inequities impact bodies, identities, and wellness. I engage deeply with the work of trans, disabled, and BIPOC educators and healers.I am in a constant learning process and commit to accountability, admitting when I am wrong, and a life long learning process. I will do my work to educate myself and enlist the support of diverse mentors and peers when necessary.
I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia with a minor in Studio Art. I received my Masters in Social Work with a focus on Children and Families and Mental Health from the University of Southern California. I conducted my graduate research in the field of inclusive sex education. In addition, I have experience as a K-12 and Montessori art teacher, school based mental health worker and support for youth with disabilities. A large portion of my work has focused on supporting resilience in traumatized and criminalized youth and adults. I have worked with people aged 5 to 65+ and love all of the unique opportunities different stages of life bring. I am a voracious reader, resource seeker and self-educator. My vast experiences have brought me to a place of deep empathy and understanding and humbled me to want to help people live their best lives, completely on their terms.
Let’s journey together toward your most integrated*, authentic self.
*My definition of integration is a restoration of the feeling of our innate psychological, physiological and spiritual wholeness. It is the work of honoring and accepting all parts of ourselves and making decisions in accordance with our values, desires and truest nature. Often felt as a softening toward, and ownership of, the whole self. An integrated individual allows all parts of their being to work in harmony with one another. An integrated community sees its wellness holistically and values all lives, experiences and skills.
I am currently located on unceded Kickapoo, Osage, Caddo and O-ga-xpa lands, also known as Fayetteville, Arkansas in the Ozark hills. My office is located in south Fayetteville near Local Color Studio Gallery.
I spend my free time playing at the river in all seasons, prioritizing friendship and community, driving on dirt roads with my dog and trying to find time to make art.
